About Us

Cecily Gatacre: Founder and Designer

‘I began Sogoodnight in 2009 while living in the SouthWest of France with my family. I have strong memories of wearing long soft cotton nighties as a child, having four children of my own I wanted to create the equivalent today. With Nostalgia, longevity, purity and completely adorable, being key factors in my mind I started to design my own. All our nightwear is made locally in small production runs which meet UK fire retardent standards.

My training is in Scenic art and design, and i worked for many years in the film and theatre industries, the Uk and Australia. It has been great fun involving my kids, incredibly satisying taking them with me to the printing house where they can watch the patterns in their chosen colours being printed on huge rolls of fabric. They each have one named after them and as the collection has grown, so do their cousins. We hope that Sogoodnight will move forward in all sorts of fun and exciting directions’.

Amanda Hewitt: Design consultant

I studied Fine Art at Winchester and worked in publishing for many years before moving to South West France in 2004. I am a full time artist and sculptor, and exhibit in France and the UK. Cecily has long been an enthusiastic supporter of my work, while my twin boys wear her Sogoodnight pyjamas - so we share a mutual respect, with a similar eye for design and attention to detail. I was delighted to contribute some design ideas for the new pillow range.
